U2 Concert Tour Information
U2 is widely regarded as the BEST rock and roll band to emerge from Europe in the early 80's, and is based in Dublin, Ireland. On September 25th, 1976, at the age of 14, Larry Mullin Jr. posted a notice on The Mount Temple Comprehensive School message board seeking other musicians to form a local band. Although Larry Mullin orchestrated the formation of the band, he was only in charge until Paul Hewson (Bono) walked into his kitchen several minutes after auditions began. The band formed as 4 youths with little musical talent in 1976, and they named the band "Feedback", as it was one of only a few technical, music terms that they knew. Later after gaining some musical experience, the band re-named themselves "The Hype"
Steve Averill, who was a close personal friend of Adam Clayton, and also a well-known punk rock musician, suggested 6 different names for the band to choose from. The 4 band members liked. and subsequently chose "U2" for its open-ended interpretation, and also for it's ambiguity. It was also the name that all 4 of the band members disliked the LEAST.
U2 emerged in the early 80's as a very talented band that was willing to take on the world.U2 is formed of 4 band members, including front man Paul Hewson on vocals (AKA Bono) David Evans on Guitar (AKA The Edge), Adam Clayton on Bass, and the younger Larry Mullins Jr. on Drums.
Written and recorded in various locations, No Line On The Horizon is the group´s 12th studio album and is their first release since the 9 million selling album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, released in late 2004.
Recording sessions for "No Line On The Horizon" began last year in Fez, Morocco, continued in the band´s own studio in Dublin, before moving to New York´s Platinum Sound Recording Studios, and finally being completed at Olympic Studios in London.
